Are you going to put a bottom plate on it? I am thinking a lot of heat could be lost by leaving it open. On my double pan I have a bottom plate (by the wheels) with insulation between it and the grease pan.

Definitely using Bunnings hammer, got the idea off AussieSmoker84.

I am most certainly putting a bottom plate, it's cold enough her to have an effect on my fridge smoker & that's insulated pretty well.

I'm looking more towards a suckling pig for my celebrations.

Had some more time in the shed today, got the insulation retaining devices installed around the FB & two of the outer skins on.

So close but so far, I keep thinking I'm almost done but it's all the fiddly stuff that I still have to do & I'm sure that stuff will take just as long.

Looks very good. Yep the fiddly stuff does tend to take up a disproportionate amount of time. I guess it is a bit like eating an elephant. The whole task looks huge but one bite at a time gets you there.
In no time at all you'll be chomping on your suckling oink and all the hassle will be a distant memory....

Got some more done today. Finished up all the outer panels & put the wheels on, now just gotta finished the cc door seal, all the doors & frames, a shelf at the bottom & the cook shelves & runners.

It is so heavy RC, I had to get a mate to help me roll it on its side & almost crushed his toe, lucky he had my steel caps on.

I got some more work done today & the pics will follow when I get it back upright(layed it on it back to do the front door) & when I was laying it on it back I had a mate help me, but the as it went over it slipped & my muppet mate grabbed the ball valve handle thinking it was solid(I know right ) anyway, long story short, he snapped the handle off below the threads! So it's now a throw away.
Anyway, I was checking out a new one & I saw this brass knife gate & thought it might be a good option cause of its finer adjustment but I was also unsure if the brass was ok to use, what are everyone's thoughts on this idea?
