Are you going to put a drip ledge on the inside of the door to direct the grease back into your drain pan?

I realized I left that off after getting it in the back yard. I'll probably add it this week.

FYI, Here's the drain pan. I'd simplify is design next time though.

Seasoned it at 350 degrees on Saturday then cooked some pork overnight that was ready Sunday afternoon. My heatermeter setup easily got it up to 350 then I backed down and cooked the pork at 250 and the entire time it would hold the temp within 2 degrees either way. Next time I'll grab a screenshot of the bar graph to show how straight the line is. Maybe I'll post a link to the live cook too.

I have to admit I was surprised at how hot the outside of the smoker got eventually. Even at 250 a lot of the panels were surprisingly warm. Probably not hot enough to burn yourself but you couldn't keep your hand on it for more than a couple seconds.

I'd probably also use P gasket next time too instead of the stick on since it's a lot thicker. I'd use self tapping screws to attach the inside door panel and pinch the gasket tail between the inside panel and the door.

looks Great i read your post about the changes you made to the mini plans ,
did you make any changes to the size of the fire box area above the grate ?

The size was just adjusted to match the changed over all height of the cooler. Since I only used 1/4" steel and had it plasma cut I was able to combine a few of the pieces too.

was thinking about doing a modified mini build .
just wasn't sure if the fire box assembly needed to be enlarged also
to heat the extra cooking chamber space.

I would say no unless you're making it significantly larger. With my controller attached I can get it up to 350 no problem.
