" it's the small details, Ralphy boy ". Ed Norton to Ralph Cramden when he believes he will be inheriting a fortune.

Those extras really add a very nice personal touch. You easily pick yours out of a lineup!

Ok, I have to get this smoker out for powder coating as soon as possible. I just made handles for the Air Intake, and Drain valves. I wanted them to match the rest of the handles on the smoker. I think I need help. I can't stop. Is this how it starts?

Well here she is. All finished. Been running it all day to season it. She runs REAL steady at what ever temperature I set it at. Been going for 5 hours and only used about 3lbs of lump charcoal. I'm very happy.

Great job, paint looks sweet. They do run great. Mine ran for 13hrs today without adding additional coal. I am excited about that.

Sorry I forgot to say that it is powder coated. I beleive my son should be able to give this to his grand kids. If we take good care of it. Do any of you know which if any parts need replacement form years of use? I'm assuming that the grates and the charcoal grates will need replacement or repair eventually. Is there any other parts I should keep an eye on?

Very nice!!! Who did the paint? It looks like a hammered finish?

Yes it is a hammered finish, Pacific Coast Powder Coating in Palmdale CA. did the coating. It is a candy red over silver vein. The door is gloss black hammered finish, along with the valve handles and rain cover.

Well my wife has Demanded (yes "Demanded" with a Capitol "D"), a Woodfired Pizza Oven to match the Smoker. Below are a couple of pictures of what I'm thinking so far. Still a lot of research to do yet.

This all started so innocently. A friend needed a place to put his CNC Plazma for a year I said "sure" if you teach me how to weld. Plus I wanted a bigger smoker. My little electric one was to small for what I was doing now. Well once I started getting into the meat of building it, and seeing all the great ideas that everyone else was doing on here. My imagination went into high gear. Now I have more ideas for projects then I could ever get done in a life time. This whole project has opened up an entire new world for me. I want to thank you ALL for the information, inspriration, support, and comradery. I will be doing a lot more stuff on here, and I will keep you all up to date with what I'm creating next.

Oh!! and for Frank, when you get the plans for the "Hawg Cawfin" done. I'm all over them too. Or if you have Woodfired Pizza Oven plans. Either one. I'm on it.

Here are a couple of pictures of what I've cooked up yesterday for the Super Bowl. I love how this Smoker works. She runs consistent at any temp I want. With VERY little management. I did find that it has a hotter spot on the lower grill near the back.(closest to the transfer channel). Other that that she is very predictable, and SO consistent.
