The boattail was on a 1929 Model A chassis with a stock engine that had a few upgrades and had a 5 speed overdrive in it. 90 mph on manual brakes was a bit scary. The tow truck is an all stock 1930 Model AA and the blue pickup is an all stock 1931 model A. After building them and driving them for years I sold them all and hung up my restoration hat.

My spring time passion comes in the form of assassinating as many sage rats as I can.....I usually exterminate 5000 or more a year...some years I get 7500......it's an expensive venture and having the right tools makes it so much fun.....like my assassination trailer that gives a birds eye view over the fields for two shooters....

what are you going to do after the first of the year when the no lead comes into effect? I usually shoot around Dorris Ca. I guess we will have to go to Oregon to do it legally.

I can shoot until the end of June leaded. After that I switch over to lead free. I have been shooting lead free for three years now with some of my loads. I have 4000 loaded rounds of 17 HMR and 6000 rounds for my 204's.

That 1.5 nice rifle is now 2.5. I have two complete AR's and one extra upper made for walking around with. The bench guns weight 16 pounds and don't shoulder well walking around.

I hear ya, I recently built a gas gun chambered in 6.5 creedmore with a 24" heavy barrel. Definitely not a walking around gun. I have 1.5 small frame ar as well

I have too many lead rounds to shoot up. I usually shoot a week at a time and take 6 or 7 trips to Dorris for the season. I will have to find a couple more ranches in Oregon to shoot on.I shoot a lot of 22"s. I have had days when I would shoot over a brick of 22"s in an hour and never shoot over 70 yards. This is a picture of one of the fields I shoot at. It"s a target rich environment. All the white dots are Squeeks.

I love the 100 yard and under days. Not too many of those spots where I hunt. 200 yards is normal range and a 22 just won't cut it. We can use 22's for about an hour then it's time to switch to longer range fire power. We are getting a lot of ranchers using poison again so that is knocking out places to shoot. With that comes more hunters in smaller areas. I won't hunt when it's crowded. My hunting partner has hunted Dorris a few times but I stay out of that area for now. To be honest the $1500 in ammo, $400 in gas, and about $500 in guns a year is getting pretty hard on my wallet. I'm going to judge how the populations are in Feb. and decide whether or not I hit it hard this year or just a few times. I need to shoot up at least 2000 rounds of leaded .223's and 204's at a minimum though. So that could be three good days of shooting. I'll never shoot all the 17 ammo I have that's leaded.....and we won't even get into how many bricks of 22 lr I have stacked in the closet.

Yea I have over 60,000 rounds of 22's , 10,000 rounds of 17hmr, 2500 rounds of 22mag , 2500 rounds of 223 loaded and over 8000 rounds that I can load. So I know what you mean by expenses. That's what I do early spring. May 1st the bottom season opens on the ocean and I try to go out when to ocean lets lets us. I did my last ocean trip for 2018 yesterday. Here are some pics you might like. We have over 200 elk within 2 miles of the house.
