Built for my best friend...

Post by Gizmo » October 27th, 2012, 3:34 pm

It is a rare gift to meet someone in the 8th grade and be best friends for life but that's how it is with Bill.
This smoker is dedicated to him and our life-long friendship.
Bon Apetite' my friend!
Image

... and I helped him set the rear axle in his "B" while I was visiting...
Image

... and we made a couple pizza's to eat while we're waiting on the ribs...
Image

... and he's already considering using his John Deere "B" seat on the smoker cause it's seat is in better condition for the restoration... !

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D
Current smokers: Egor (trailered RF) and Easybake (tabletop pellet drive)

Definetly what friendship is all about. You know, free help, good food, free advice and of course cold beer!

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

HaHaHa ... Mac I would have to say YES!

Bill cooked 2 pizzas, 3 racks of baby backs and about 7 pounds of chicken with it on Saturday while I was there and it never missed a beat.
As would be expected, it takes about 10 more minutes to get that size tank hot and the temp to stabilize the first time but then it's fine the rest of the day. :D

Awesome Rick! A guy at work was big into restoring the older tractors he would've loved what you came up with and I'm sure your friend does

Kind of a coincidence - I was already rounding up parts for something with antique wheels when Bill drug home this tractor ... turned out to be a plan that just fell together.... :)
