SmokerBuilder.com Good 'ol Boy Gatherin!

Ok fellers, it is time we had our first annual Gatherin of the Good'ol Boys!
We are going to try to put this together for the evening of 14th through the afternoon of 16th of September.
We are looking for a place in Kansas City area which will accommodate camping and RV's etc. I know of a couple places that would work great.
Bring your families and plenty of food etc. for those you bring. We are looking to have Pot luck style meals and maybe a mini- contest of sorts (still workin on that part).
The KC airport is close by and I along with others would be happy to help pick up anybody that wants to fly in. If you don't want to camp out there are Lot's of Hotels both cheap and fancy near by.
If anyone has questions or idea's please reply to this thread.... or call me LOL.

Frank, we arrive in Dallas on the 1st August and stay around there for a day or so to get over the jet lag, then head up through Okla)(homa, Nebraska, to Des moines and go to the Iowa Fair, then head back down to KCMO on the 13th for the Slick 60`s F100 clubs bi annual get to gether" Slickstock", http://www.slick60s.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=24820, we will be in KC until the 20th August the head out some where to look around before leaving from Dallas/Ft Worth on the 29th for home. this will be our 3rd trip to this get together and my 4th to the US, if it weren`t for family ties we both would move to the US tomorrow!

This is us at HOJO`S in KC in 2008, I believe it`s a nursing home now!............................there`s a couple of Missourians in the bunch!

I'm being selfish but how about August 10,11,12? - meet Edna's Kids at the Weeping Water contest for a get-together - 25 miles east of Lincoln. If you are heading for KCMO from Des Moines then that would be almost on the way Mac ... about 2 hours north/west of St. Jo for the MO folks ... for what it's worth ...

Ok, so I called the staff at the Camp Branch Campground in Smithville, MO today. They have a great campground with all the things you could possibly need and it is right on the golf course and Smithville Lake. Very nice place! I need to get a head count to reserve the spots for anyone wanting to bring a trailer or RV so the sites will be saved for us. The guy on the phone encouraged me to keep the date at September 15th so he can ensure enough open spots. He said beginning and end of the month are very busy. The KCI airport is only 9 miles away and I will be available as well as others to pick anyone up at the airport that would like to fly in. I have room for a couple people in our trailer and you can also camp onsite in tents or stay in any of the local motels if you like.
This is gonna be a great time!!!
Don't forget to bring a smoker if you want!

Actually, depending on how this place is laid out, I've seen some creative camper placement in my travels that would come perty close ....
