Post by KILLSWITCH505 » December 13th, 2011, 5:44 pm

Gorditas

I wanted to make something different. This is my take on gorditas . Its super simple and oh so good. I guess this is what you would call a Mexican comfort food.

Filling
2 lbs ground beef
4 potatoes 1/2 cubes
2 Tbsp garlic salt

Cook GB until almost done add potatoes cover and reduce heat cook until potatoes are soft ( about 20 minutes) uncover and brown over high heat

Well I can tell you fellers you are going to like cooking on your plow disk when you get it done. I had see them on another web site and got a disk and went at it. I will say get a new one if at all posiable. I probably have 5, 6 hrs. of grinding and buffing on mine. I finished mine yesterday and was supperised to see a post on them when I came in for lunch. I have cooked on cast iron and know the sticking problems that can happen. But after heating it up and getting the oil good and hot and all over it we went to cooking. Not one time did anything stick. And it tasted great, even had a taste of freshly turned soil. =))

This is a picture of 8 pork steaks being cooked on my plow cooker. It is big enough (19 in) to get all of them on at once and had room left over, and did a great job. Like Killswitch says you can cook anything on them, and so far he is right. I'm going to hate it when the oldest son leaves to go back to his home, It is going to be his Christmas present

Mine usually has a cooking tool on it, and once in a while I move something up out of the cooking area onto it.

Welcome to the addiction my friends!
Mac, The burners we are using are about 12,000 BTU's. I think it should work fine. the discs I have been using are 24". That is about the right size for them
