Made me a disco, and burner

Post by Tipps » October 5th, 2018, 3:26 pm

Thanks to this forum, I saw these things and had to have one. Found me a few 22" discs (1 for me, and the others for folks down the street). Welded 1-1/2" lip around edge, welded on some handles, and cleaned up the disc surface.
Bought me an old steel wheel from a tire shop, had some scrap metal so started building a new burner stand that was taller than my old fish fryer, and one that would cradle the disc. I welded some cold roll in it too in case I needed to use a pot for fish at times, and the burner stand turned out pretty good. Got burner head and regulator on amazon, and that sucker will put out some heat.

Very nice. I do like the idea of a steel wheel for the base. Incorporates a wind shield and holes at the bottom for air. :kewl:

Nice job... once you start to use it it will be hard to imagine a time when you had to use a skillet!
