Yes it does! Thanks!

I have been worried about getting the brick work done before winter and it is to cold to do it. I actually had a small electric heater in the smoker with a piece of drywall over the opening to keep the heat in and keep the concrete above from freezing while it set.

I finished the brick work on top of the smoker!! I also put some sealer on the bricks on the top of the smoker. I started a fire in the smoker to help try to keep the bricks a little warmer while the sealer dries. Since my doors on the smoker aren't done I used a piece of drywall to keep the heat in. I could of used a electric heater but I wanted to see some smoke coming out of those stacks!! 😁

I also started to lay out the tiles for around the grill.

I sure hope so! I tried to build it as strong as possible! I worry about all the constant freezing and thawing during the winter.

If you are worried about water getting down in cracks over time and freezing and causing cracks eventually, an awning with 4 pipes anchored in the ground and a little bit of 1/8" angle iron to screw the panels to may do the trick. corrugated metal in my area is relatively cheap. Home Depot has some vinyl stuff that I have used before, that is not too bad.. Plus awnings are nice in the blazing sun in the summer too. I have built several of them at work and for a few friends, I get remnants from metal building installers/ suppliers on the cheap..

Looking good!!

Thanks!

I have thought about doing something like that. I have been looking at ideas on the internet and nothing has struck my fancy yet! I'm leaning toward a wood frame with the corrugated metal roof... I think!

Wood is good. I built a few patio covers at my house for both of my patios with wood. I poured concrete where the posts are and used those galvanized clips that pour into around it that are designed for 4x4 posts, That way the posts arent underground and rotting. I did some fence posts with a neighbor a few years back and set them in concrete and they are already rotting out. But the posts for may patio that I did at about the same time still look brand new.

Thanks!

I have the tile laid. All I need to do is seal the grout. I am pretty happy with the way it came out! I'm starting to see day light!!!

I started on the metal work for the smoker. I have the frame tacked together. I was getting ready to put in the cross piece that seperates the fb from the cc. The fb opening would be 22 1/4 x 22 1/4 and cc opening would 22 1/4 x 40 1/4. All of it is 28" deep. Do you see any problem with this? I know you guys said it really doesn't matter as far as function. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do something inconvenient, that would cause problems like to small of a fb opening and not be able to get wood in easily or something I am not thinking of.

You could probably cut down your firebox size a bit if you wanted. 2 inch for bottom clearance, 9 inch for a firebox and 4-6 inch headroom means you only need about 16 inches internal for your firebox. Just my opinion but a vertical is pretty efficient so a smaller firebox works well and helps to prevent building too big a fire.

Benefit is more room in the cook chamber.....
