Silicon Valley BBQ Championships

Just wanted to announce that we’re now accepting entries for teams and judges for the KCBS 2014 Silicon Valley BBQ Championships in Santa Clara California hosted by the Rotary Club of Santa Clara. Teams will be competing for $12,000 in prize money. Our first year we had 39 teams and our second year 56. This year were expecting even more.
Ever since I got interested in the art of BBQ in the early 90’s, it has been a wild ass dream to put on a real BBQ comp in my home town. I finally got my chance in 2012 when my Rotary club approved this project. It’s great to be able to bring this dream alive and have Teams and judges from all over California and surrounding states to come to my home town for a great weekend. Also to see the residents of Santa Clara rally around this event and open their eyes to mouths to some great BBQ comp fun.
I hope that some of you can enter and make the trip to Santa Clara. If you do, make sure you drop a note on the entry form that you’re from Smokebuilders.

Wanted to give an update on this years Silicon Valley BBQ Championships. Due to an increase in event sponsorships we are raising the prize money to $15,000.
