Chimney Question

Post by gusibole » May 13th, 2012, 9:31 am

If a calculation calls for a 30" chimney of 4" pipe, could you substitute 2 15" inch chimneys of 4" instead?

all you hafta do is match the total volume.
3.14 times radius squared, times the length= total volume or (3.14*r2)h and then figure out the volume of size chimney you want to use and match the lengths to the size required.... if that makes sense
2*2=4*3.14=12.56 sq. inches
12.56*30=376.8 cubic inches for the single stack

2*2=4*3.14=12.56 sq inches
12.56*15= 188.4 cubic inches for the double stacks
188.4*2= 376.8 total volume
so yes it will work fine! :kewl:
