OTS "smoker" fire help.

Post by Jethro1 » May 16th, 2012, 2:27 pm

I'm not sure if this is on here some where but how do I do a low and slow fire on my OTS kettle? Is there more than one way? Pics would help :ympray: (not that it's rocket science). L-) Thanks all.

Isn't there some kind of air inlet controls?

A Weber Kettle grill. It's called a One Touch Silver. The 22.5" grill.

I put charcoal in a circle around the outside. I light a small amount in a chimney and pour it all in one spot, on unlit coal. Then I use the air inlet on the bottom and the exhaust vent to control the temp.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Thanks Smoke one. Just finishing up and I did as you suggested and worked well. Took a while to get up to temp, but once it did, it held well. I think once I learn this thing it will be kind of fun. Best of all it was free and Weber is sending me replacement parts for free. :biggrillin:
