reheating on the grill?

Post by chvojka » July 5th, 2012, 5:08 pm

Has anyone ever tried smoking chicken one day then reheating on the grill the next day. How much would quality suffer. I've heard some caterers do this to prepare then quickly serve the masses. Any thoughts? Experiences?

from the fridge put the chicken in a disposable alum pan and pour about a half cup of chicken broth in the pan and seal it shut with tinfoil - recycled foil works best (makes it look like you were up all night making it when the company arrives) then put it in the smoker at 300 for 1 hour. It'll come out of there like it just came off the smoker the first time.... :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

Last weekend when I was doing my trest cooks on the new smoker (I did chicken Sat and pork butts Sun) my wife wanted a piece of the leftover Saturday Chicken reheated for lunch on Sunday. I wrapped a piece of the chicken she wanted in alum foil and tossed it into the smoker with the pork butts for about an hour until it was nice and warm for her. She said it was just as god as the day before.

Pulling my pork....200 lbs at a time!!

Thanks for all the input I have to smoke 150 chickens on prep day and quarter them and serve 600 servings the next day. This is my first large scale cooking.

Good luck with that cook! Let us know how it went.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

If you were really committed you'd get to at least 21. Just saying. ;)
