Firebox to smoke chamber orifice shape

Would it be wiser to use an elliptical or rectangle orifice.

An elliptical orifice is always better.......Oh..you meant for the smoker. LOL

It really doesn't make alot of difference, the biggest thing is what works for the size you need vs the space you have to make the hole in.
My rf took the whole space where the cook tank overlapped the firebox. So mine had to be the shape of a tear drop.

I have seen square or rectangle on several big rigs though.

Going with a horizontal reverse flow offset. 24 in. .375 wall, 41 in. long smoke chamber, 16 in. .375 wall, 30.750 in. long firebox.
Used the online calculator from Alien Bbq. So I have all the size particulars. Rounding up the rest of the material I need and off I go!
