Show us what else you build!

Post by Smokydokey » March 8th, 2015, 8:31 pm

I'm a newb 'round here and have been adiring the "fab" talent on this board when it comes to welding and design/fab. I'm learning a lot from this forum and am on my first attemp at a smoker, it'll prolly end up looking like a tractor implement, trailer, bumper or something :oopssign: but that's more along my past history of welding projects.
Show off your stuff, cookers or not! I'll start with a few.

TRUSS ROD . . =)) That was my first inlay attempt ten yrs ago. I've since gotten it down to a more delicate and refined artwork. My real passion was restoring vintage American motorcycles prior to 1935 and Edison and RCA Victorolas

(For anyone who wants to know why truss Rod is funny, it is a Rod imbedded in a guitar necktie counter te effect of string tension on the wooden neck and it ability to bend or warp.)

I've built quite a few speakers.

Those are really nice Pete. I remember seeing a lot of speakers in your cave when you posted a picture. Anyone in the house mind the extra sound...?

No, but then I don't listen anyway.

I stopped building when I ran out of family and friends that wanted great sound. I still have some raw drivers that I never got around to building with.

Pete what's the secret to a really good speaker? Components, cabinet, all of the above?

Yep, all the above, including the crossovers that divert the proper frequencies to the specific drivers.

Wow some good looking homemade goods here. Unfortunately I got nothing, really been slacking.

SFF that looks familiar! Let the fun begin.

Whoa.... That was unexpected Rod... Those are beauties. Something near and dear to me. And you are in a great spot for that. Are those fluorescent stripes built into the rods? Also, I do need a pole barn....busy next month?
