Aww really. I will have to check it out. Not much on FB. But for Q...I might just try it again.
And Frank I'm just messin with ya...you've always replied to my PM's. No way I think you should or feel like you should read every thread.
I'm not sure how Puffy does it but he gets around on these threads!
Of course RC, Big T, Pete and several others seem to swing in each day or never more than two and provide their input

I've just read this whole thread & I'm so keen to see this when its finished. As RC has said many times, this bohemoth is going to be a legend for generations to come! Brilliant work FC & great teamwork from all the advisors, :points: I do believe this is one of the best forums going for any subject, great community & great friendly atmosphere.

Thanks Squiggle! The 12 was a year since the tank arrived in the shop. I joined this site within days of that date. It's been a long process. It is coming together. I plan to cook for Mardi Gras parades here locally the last weekend of the month. She prolly won't be painted but she will tow. No doubt this is by far the best forum I've ever found. So glad the good Lord pushed me in a direction to find this group. You are very right there are many a good man on here, including DC. Unselfish and if they can help they will.

DC she is a beast. Go big or go home. I'm anxious to get a few more things knocked out and share my vision for years coming to a reality.

Hard to get good pics where she sits. The charcoal rack will raise up/down 10-12". That's why there's a slot in the ends.

Very nice! For the trailer rig you're building anything less would be out of place.

That's one heck of a grill you've got there FC. How does your adjustable grate work ?

Building a Cooker from a Propane Tank

Post by forty_creek » January 19th, 2016, 4:21 pm

Thanks fellas!
Big T- basically the same principal as a Santa Maria. Except the charcoal grate will be adjustable. I've cooked on a really nice grill that had a neat setup with the same principle. I really like how well it worked. Will have cables on both ends and a rod across the top to roll up or down. I guess a reverse Santa Maria style.

Haven't installed the cable and guides yet.

What a great feeling...

This is with a drop hitch. We swapped gotcha to a straight one. It leveled up the rig pretty good. I am going to add a 2" lift block to the rear of the truck. For some reason when I had a leveling kit put on the truck they only added it to the front. My truck has been unlevel for a while. Front to rear 1.5" lower. Tongue weight is great.

Airbags work great too...they ride good and give you a little extra umph when you have a load like that.
