Grilling in the Dark

Post by digbigpig » March 17th, 2020, 4:04 am

Hi there!
I'm the one who likes grilling outside in evenings, but I'm also the one who fed up shining grill workplace with the phone light, so I'm looking for recommendations. Maybe there are lamps for the grill, which fix on the surface somehow. Everything I found is this review, but I think there are more options exist. Waiting for your recommendations, thanks in advance!

LED lamps are showing up in all kinds of configurations. There's big support for Weber and Big Green Egg brand names. Or, go with an LED headlamp.

I put up a tri-panel motion sensitive 1900w equivalent LED on the back of the house shortly after we bought it. One of the panels is aimed directly at the grill. If anything, it's almost too bright.

Look also at landscape lighting. They have a lot of fixtures that can be mounted in or on your grill island.

I mounted a flood light on my back door and it’s like daylight. The second photo is looking through the window to the patio. I use a vertical so it’s probably easier for me to see but I also have an LED headlamp for those particularly dark blind spots. I seriously have to turn the porch light off except for when I need it because it’s blinding for the neighbors.

Like I suspected, something would be off. It’s obvious though, the first pic is from inside the house. Good luck!
