I will tell ya, the original bush's beans or even the showboat beans are just as good. I have actually stopped using the bold and spicy ones. I also put a layer of light brown sugar over the top and then take a spoon and not stir it but push it down just enough to get the juice over the top of the sugar. smoke it for an hour or so then stir the pot. I also recommend smoking them as long as possible. the longer the smoke the better they will be. the juice will start to reduce and the beans will get softer and better. also if you put meat in the beans, don't put it in for the entire smoke. only put it in for about 1/3rd of the time. if the meat is in for too long it will become mushy.
