Mini GF Cooking Capacity

Post by cinelk » October 22nd, 2018, 4:17 pm

The plans indicate that the rack size for the mini is 22x18 and that the spacing between racks is 5". So I am thinking I will be able to load the following per rack. Please let me know if you think I am off.

-4 racks of spare ribs per rack
-4 pork butts per rack 10# each
-2 packer briskets per rack 12# each

I like a little space between my pieces. I’d be more inclined to only put 3 rib racks or 2-3 shoulders per shelf. Air flow is important and I don’t like to crowd. I would only put 1 brisket per shelf also...but that’s just me.

DT is spot on. I like a little air circ too. Recently had 3 9# butts per shelf and it was tighter than I normally like. All personal preference....
