Greetings from the Northern Neck of Va!

Post by Ps1474 » December 4th, 2018, 10:35 am

Hi!

Names Vance and I am currently having a local welder build a Double Pan Gravity feed smoker for my Volunteer Fire Dept. The plans made it super easy for us to have a smoker that suits our needs built locally rather than have to pay $500+ to have one shipped. I also have built several UDS smokers in the past and I am building another one as a Christmas gift as we speak. I look forward to learning more and I peruse the forums!

Thanks!

Welcome to the crew. The DPGF is a beast, but oh so nice.

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford

Im Impressed you found a welder that would work for less than the $500 shipping. He definitely isn’t making any money.

Glad to have you on board.

Can't wait to see how it comes out. Suprised you couldn't get some of the guys to volunteer to help build a smoker. Paying a welder sounds expensive

All told its going to be right at $3k (total including materials) to have it built. We think thats a good deal for a smoker thats bigger than what we could get for $4k.
He's a welder for the naval yard so he lays a pretty bead!
