Thanks for the comments. I would have liked to do this build 20 years ago, but didn't have the information then. This site is making it possible. I've been building fire trucks for the last 29 years and I couldn't have built the whole truck myself without seport. That's what this site is like for me. I got a lot of information off of here to build it. I'm sure I'll have a few more questions as I go. :kewl:

So, reading between the lines here I feel you next build is going to be a retired water-tanker from the local department.....lol.

The first cut is always the hardest.

Remember to keep the bell so, when the smoker is done and you get bored, you can make a fire pit out of it.

Oh yeah, I also will have enough there to cut a strip out for the door seal.

Got a question on the inside of the tank. I hit it with a wire wheel. As you can see in the picture, there is a line where the liquid must have sat. There isn't an order, so I don't know how concerned I should be. Would it be good to burn it before I assemble it or just do a long burn before I cook on it when I have it done? I'm going to have the outside sandblasted, so maybe could hit that too. The bottom of the tank is going to be the top of the CC.

Smoke is going to cover all that black on the first cook.....don't worry about it. I would wait until it's all done before lighting it off.
