What is the ideal amount of space between the rf plate and cooking surface? 6inches about right?

Yup, 6 is a really good number but since your tank is so big you could maybe even stretch it to 7 ish.

Check out how high the FB opening is, All of mine have set just an inch or so over the FB opening.

Well have actually got alot of work done, firebox is done, redid all the hinges on the lids, found out the hard way that 3/8 rod and dom is not strong enough. I have alot of odds and ends to finish, and one problem the trailer is tongue light anyone have any ideas? I was thinking about putting a warming cabinet on the front and heat it off the cook chamber from below the rf plate but didn't know how that would affect the cooking chamber? I will try and put up some new pics later today.

Yeah still gotta build the counterweights, haven't quite figured that one out yet, and lots of odds and ends to finish up. Hopefully this weekend will be the maiden burn. :chef:

Most people just cut some square or round tubing at a 45 and then get a solid tube on the top of that....but being your from Raytown and all....I think you can do better.... :peek:

Well got some more done today, redid the lid handles, and built the counter balances, figured I had some pipe left from the stack so why not put it to use.
