Stack position on a Center feed design

I’m curious as to if anyone has experience with Center feed stack positions. I’ve gone through the forums looking for info on it and haven’t been able to find much.
I’m in the process of designing a new smoker that’s centerfeed and reverse flow, I have seen that a use of a shadow plate is beneficial, but haven’t seen stack position.
I can post a picture of the design later on when I get to the home computer.
The smoker is 72”L by 30”W by 30”H

The stack should be centered left to right. On larger pits the placement of the meat left to right may slow the air flow down unevenly and cause a hot side and a cooler side. I know this for a fact as it happened to me.

How big is your CC? There are several people here with smaller center feeds that work well.

It's an unconventional build that I ended up splitting into two separate halves....and it's works really well now.

The cc is 72•30•30
A bit of a bigger one but I wanted it 6’ long for catering reasons...just really like the footprint of making it centerfeed in case of trailer mounting the cooler.

Is this why I see some center feeds with dual stacks for a split chamber? Or to help even out temperature?

Two stacks would really help with temp adjusting.

Being able to adjust how level it is helps

I think two stacks encourages the smoke to go both directions. Keeps the meat consistent left to right.

Thanks for the input...I’ve seen 2 stack designs and the logic makes sense...I’ll try that setup see how it goes. Hoping to start construction soon, I’ll post design pictures soon

This is the main info here, one or two stacks does not matter as long as resistance is equal left/right.
Personalty I will go for one, less variables to control.

I agree with the single stack/ I asked the same question when I was building out my CF project . I have my CF single stack centered, and I have never had more than a few degrees difference in temperature. I used the RF flow BP opening calculator specs/2 at the opening ends and it is very balanced. The only time it was a few degrees out was when I had a prevailing wind blowing on my cc, but typically its dead nuts both sides..
