Thanks Dargo. Yes, I’m glad I did them this way. I don’t think I will repeat it. Even though I made jigs and templates to cut these all as accurately as possible, there were just too many gaps or high spots once the tank went on. I’m pretty sure the tank itself was pretty uneven. Also, making sure that all 35 legs were square on the trailer took too much time. Glad it turned out, but even more glad I’m done with them!
Definitely looked like a lot of work. Maybe next time, who are you kidding you know you will try it again, you only need 2 rows maybe 3 max?dacolson wrote:Thanks Dargo. I do like the way the shelf looks that way. Your folding/sliding tray looks really cool.dacolson wrote:Moved on to framing up the sides of the trailer for wood storing and on to rack and prep shelf work. Took some time this round to build a jig for the slide on the folding prep shelf. Also worked on a repeatable process for bending the edges of the expanded steel over so it would tuck inside the steel frames on the shelving. First one took a while but the next ones ably took a little longer than normal. I really like how tidy they look.
Oh, and I got my logo plates cut ... love them. Added the 3 stars for TN and the lone star for TX for my customer. Got them cut in town here by Wolfgang Sixl at 6ldesign.com. This guy’s shop is sweet. Makes me feel like a slob.

This logo design looks really cool. Just looked at it for a minute or two trying to see all the supports that hold the metal pieces in there.dacolson wrote:Did a little trailer work today. Built the side walls and added my logo plate.

Thx BigT. Not so worried about the ash as I am trying to keep the coals above the air intakes. Maybe a bit over the top. I’ll do a test run this week and see how it burns.
