The Fox in action (Legacy 4800)

Post by Saskattak » March 19th, 2021, 8:20 am

I spent my winter building my first smoker. It is a reverseflow design from Smokerbuilder that I modified somewhat. Happy to say it works great out of the gate. So i thought I would share a few pics from my cooks so far. It sooted up on me this last cook but I think I have that problem worked out. Chicken parts were done in my warming cabinet/hot box with vents over the fire opened up.

Happy smoking!!!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Glad it worked out for you. It will get even easier to cook on it with a little more experience.

Thanks! It already has. The initial design is very dialed, if I move my air inlet 1/8 of the total opening the temp changes. Heats up very fast as well and is like clockwork for when wood needs to be added. Close the vents/dampers and it snuffs the fire, so its def air tight .
