110 Gallon Patio Model

Post by hogaboomer » February 11th, 2022, 12:14 am

Building this one for my neighbor. He wants one big enough to cook 3 briskets, but small enough to keep on his patio and not take up too much room. Also wants to be able to take it on the grass when he needs to.
He found a 250 gallon tank, 30 inch diameter. I cut it down to 36 inches long. I think it's turning out pretty sweet! I set the golf cart wheels up against it today just to get an idea what it's going to look like.

Excellent work as ever, Boomer. :)

Spookily enough I've been mocking up CC hinges in cardboard and they look so similar to yours, right down the the double rear section! I got some nice M10 dome head hex bolts for finishing it off.

Did you TIG weld the grease drain collector?

Thanks, guys! Yes, I like using the TIG because I don't have to clean up any spatter.

Beautiful work yet again, Hogaboomer!! I vote for the big fat handle type of pivoting latch/handle. That's one classy looking firebox and door, so it deserves a classy latch! :)

I couldn't remember which builder(s) utilized the type I was thinking about, but it's Mill Scale. I really like the firebox latch, I mean the rest of the build is great too :-) :-)

Thank you! Yes, I like the Everlast, it does everything I need to do. Wish I had a plasma, though.
