all the cookers I see have the drain coming out 90 degrees I make mine this away are thre advantages or disadvantages
it just seemed easier for me to get to

Image

I had to throw that bacon pick in I love that smoked bacon got all the pecan I could ever use

Image

Frank that is what I was talking about today this is my coffin cooker, you can see it has charcoal grates that i can remove and use the firebox. When I started this build I read somewhere about letting the stack protrude like this I figured it could always be cut off. It is 4by 6 tubing. Tell me something folks I am not a cooker guru I just love bac
Image

Tghis is not a great pick but the damper Tyler came up with 0 degrees straight down damper is closed. Turned little handle 90 degrees and damper is 100 percent open. Give me your thoughts

Image

This is before we painted the warmer and firebox what about this style of vents. The covers are off good no good. they are really just to basc for my liking

Image

I may have posted this cooker before if so delete it from your mind

Image

This is a cooker that will go in your receiver for tail gating.... ugly now looked much better painted

I really like em all. As far as the drain, i think it will work fine assuming the other end will go up so that all the liquid will come out. I am not a fan of running the stack to the grate. Heat naturally rises so, i feel you could get some stale smoke. The intakes are fine, use what u like and what is easy!

:LG:

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

The drain will work fine. No real reason for either except personal preference.
The vent looks awesome!
The air intake looks great but i prefer the round or rectangle method on mine. no real reason tho

:LG: .....I like the concept of the stack shape...that is for sure outside the box!!! I would think that cutting off the intake up higher is going to benefit more as the flow of smoke would be more fluid like that way.....other than that I would say its total off the hook man!!!!!!!!!

:points:

If you can't fix it by sheer force or cursing......then it can't be fixed.....

Thank's Frank,DC,66,and DB, it is like I told Frank I really know very little if any about the dynamics of a cooker we just started building them 4 real!!!! I am certainly more than willing to listen and take in account all the comments and advice I can get especially when people r genuinally trying to help. Arrogance is what I do not like and have run into that on other Never mind I will get off on a tangent. OK OK Ok I kinda feel like I know you guys a little now, has anyone noticed that my punctuation sucks!!!!!! HA HA and my and my words run together. I am not the best speller either. You guys taught me how to post pics but honestly, It would be futile to try and teach me English. We have a saying where I am from "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken
crap". Tyler told me yesterday when we were discussing something, work related, He said dad the effects would be so" minuscule" Dangit Boy, I know what it means but where did that come from it was just funny to me. So our policy is gonna be we are going to come up with a new word everyday. So get ready. come on guys!!!! I know you can do it!!!! But you got to use it in a sentence

I'll throw one in the hat...

SPOOGE! ; any not-totally-identified slimy stuff that's in or on something where you wish it wasn't ...

Example.: "Annually I take my smokers to the car wash and clean the Spooge out of them"

...but one a day is a lot - how about one a week?
make it a site project - that shouldn't be hard (from all these posts) to have a weekly addition to the list... :)

I started a habit over 30 years ago. I wait 20 minutes - unless I'm hacking up a lung I reschedule and leave. They got the idea a long time ago ... I'm sure it's in my file somewheres ... (problem case) :D
