I'm not sure how much it bowed out but I remember a guy welding a couple of eyes inside his CC and using a turnbuckle to pull it back in shape. I think he had to weld a straight edge in once he got it back in shape.
The fix:
Since the main pipe is .25" thick, I got a .25" thick piece of flatbar, 1.5" wide. And then on the door opening, cut out 1.5" down, across the whole length of the door opening. Then welded the flatbar in place. Turned out well!
