Uneven temperature

Post by dhunnam » June 3rd, 2012, 3:49 pm

Hi,
I am experiencing 100f swing in temperature from side to side, hottest on firebox side - my cook chamber is 77.5" long, I am burning cherry logs only. Is there any way to fix this?
Fire brick in fire box, Should I be using them, and what do they do?

Cheers!

You should give me a call.... My number is on the plans you purchased. Sounds like you may have something not sized right or you may need to change something on the way you are running the pit.

Ya, dont stress over it yet.

Something is outta wack.

Probably something small and easy to fix.

So, I will be sealing the cook chamber door with oven rope, big leak there, and will move the fire more to the centre of the fire basket - I will also be sending frank a video of what I do when running the beauty. I think sealing the chamber door will work best ;)

Cheers!

Yep, I have sealed the door, Fire more in centre of firebox, still have a variance end to end, but only of 5 - 8* so I am now a happy camper :)

Glad it is working out man. Now let see some Q!

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
