New Injector

Post by alleyrat58 » September 11th, 2012, 9:19 pm

http://spitjack.com/product/MEAT-BRINE- ... -CASE.html

I just picked up this injector about six weeks ago and have a little time to use it so I thought I would post my personal review on it.

I bought the works - carrying case, extra needles $100-ish. I was waffling between this one and the Brine Pump / Commercial Meat Injection system by F. Dick and decided to go for this one.

Works amazingly well! I was little worried because it still only holds 2 fl. oz. at a time, but overall it is much faster and easier to use than a syringe type injector. This thing does everything it says it does. Made out of steel. The local guys here sell one that looks like it, but theirs is all plastic. I have a feeling my 2-year old will still be using this when he is cooking competition. OH - one of my wonderful teammates who thinks everything should be dishwasher safe put all the pieces in the dishwasher which melted the barrel a bit - HOWEVER - they sell replacement parts and I got to yell at him until he bought a new one :wrestlinchair:

It comes apart really easily for cleaning. If you are injecting for more than a few large cooks / comps a year - you'll like this Injector. It has a mechanism to limit the amount of liquid dispensed on each pull which I really find more annoying than anything, but I know a few guys who were really stoked about it. Anyway, I'll throw it in my gear for the smoker builder gathering if anyone wants to check it out.

Nothing I like more than to kick back with a Zima and a Virgina Slim reading 50 Shades of Grey with DCman (The Czar).

I've seen them advertised but wasn't ready to dump $100 on a whim. Thanks for the feedback ... man I gotta have gadgets .. makes for a fun time :D OH, and saves me time too :kewl: That toolbox on the nose of my trailer is almost full ... may have to get TQ to add me some saddle bags over the wheels !

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

I use one very similar to that one from Tractor supply over in the syringe department their is one for livestock that you can set how much each squeeze will inject. The cheap syringes you can get any where fit perfectly in the tip. Mine costs $22. Nice looking and great carrying case but this red neck likes his tractor supply one. http://www.tractorsupply.com/producer-s ... PricingCmd
