Post by BigTuck84 » February 14th, 2013, 10:28 pm

Just bought the plans from smokerplans.net for. 48x30 reverse flow has anyone ever purchased plans from them and if so was it a good reverse flow smoker?? Plans look very good and easy to read. Any input would be much appreciative.

I'm new to the site and am not sure as to what OB1 tech support is or how to use it if I need to. Also what are y'all's thoughts on the grating for the fire box?? Should I build a basket type or just put a piece of grating in the bottom to burn the wood and charcoal on??

It's up to you on how much work you want to put in your basket...when you bought plans you should have a phone number for Frank Cox aka OB1 Kenobi

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Bigtuck84, If you do just go with grating I would put a piece of expanded steel on top of it to help hold the coal's. :welder:

The build I'm currently doing is based on a custom set of plans I had Smokerbuilder.com create. The plans are outstanding along with the support I've gotten from Frank Cox. This website also offers great support. The folks that frequent this site are always willing to give advise. You can check out the pics of my build under thread "New Offset Build"
