The monster pellet pooper, begins here.

Post by Tom_Heath » February 15th, 2013, 8:56 pm

Posting this on behalf of trunk slammer. I know we are pose to have a plan first but he picked up the metal today. Now we have to get the design plan in action.

Sitting here at smoke house BBQ . Gonna eat and draw the plans.

Shout out to dirty Dave. ..... call me if you have time tomorrow. We are gonna cut stuff out and get it all ready to bend. Don't want to put you out. But if there is a good time to make a few bends let me know.

No pics yet.

Which Smoke House? I am busy most of tomorrow but have Sunday open. I have to take a friend coyote hunting in the morning and then late after noon I am going out with the wife. I have a bender I made at home. It is about 50" long. What size metal you using? Might need a little moding if you are bending thick stuff but you are welcome to take it home or come and use it.

Smoke house in independence Mo. NY 39 th st.

Sweet deal on the bender. Using 16 ga.

I'm doing billing early am and slammer is coming down to my work so we can do all the cuts indoors.

We do need to cross break diagonal on a piece that's 36 x 27.

I think that this trailer would be plenty heavy for slammers new smoker.

Image

And then I think that this forklift should be big enough and get enough traction to not get stuck in the gravel. LOL

The joys of the toys at work....

Not a great day, but not at all a bad one either. Gotta head down stairs and look at a break to see if I can stiffen it up a bit. And try to make a leaf edge for it so that we can bend sharp edges on 14 ga.

This right here is a heck of a weld/cut table.

The bottom pan cut out and ready to fold.

And here it is. All cut up and ready to bend.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Made a few bends last night and we're not 100 % happy .. We're wanting some super sharp tight bends, so we made a little change in plans.

Changed out the rear axle seals on Super Truck this morning. Went with slammer and loaded all the parts up, loaded my tools from the shop. Changed the oil, NOTE, took almost a quart down the shirt sleeve changing the filter. Sure wish the 7.3 was like the 6 liter for changing the filter. Ford did good there.

Searched out a little more material and found enough for the cart frame and legs. covered up the sheet metal and weighted the tarp down,,,,,,ready to travel now.

Just to dispel a myth ... there is no such thing as a SHARP bend in 14 gauge ... just sayin' :D

If you could see the brake my shop uses to bend my stuff you would know why it can't be done... HUGE - SHARP - MACHO ... down right unbelievable ... and it still can't compress the radius as much as I can dream up... :D
