Ken it looks hreat when you get time give me a good front shot so I can see the inside I want tpo build one but have never seen one. Where I am at you just dont seem we are kinda backwooods people in Alabama
No comps down there TQ? That's where I had to go to see one. Almost everyone actually, with a few Stumps and 2 stick burners thrown in! I can't wait to see these finished!
Thanks Ken, Soilhunter not many comps at all near me I just want to lay my eyes on one or get a good visual then it is on!!!!!!! Ken in the above pic that shows the drilled holes is that just stifferners on the bottom plate or am I having a mirage??????
Got a little done today, mainly the cart. The smokers are ready for insulation and wrapping.
TQ, here are a couple pics. The firebox area shows the 1" opening in the side wall where the heat and smoke goes up. Both sides and the back wall have this space.
The pic of the top of the cook chamber shows the the space where the heat and smoke drop in the cook chamber and then exits thru the exhaust holes at the bottom.
Here is a pic of the cart, I swear to god the tabletop is level and square, it must be the angle of th pic.
The rails at the bottom are slides for the waterpan.
Thanks ken I am still trying to totally wrap my mind around this but I am getting there. Man you are doing an awesome job I just wish I could physically see one. Again awesome work
Just picture 3 walls, the outside one is insulation, the second wall is an airspace that carries the heat and smoke up to the top of the cook chamber, the 3rd wall is actually the cook chamber wall. The heat and smoke travel up and then drop into the cook chamber and is pulled to the bottom where the exhaust holes are and then exits at the top where my stack is. Just an insulated reverse flow. The heat and smoke hit the diverter with the rails on it and then has to travel up the side walls and back wall to the top.
Inner box has no ceiling and it's the cook chamber and it's about an inch shorter than the outer box to create a gap between them at the top of the inner box sidewalls.
Heat is applied to the bottom of the outer box and forced to rise AROUND the inner box - over the gap - and back down to get to the stack access holes in the back of the inner box so it can enter the stack plenum to rise up and out the stack.
Overall hot air flow is therefore; UP - DOWN - UP
Is that about right?
And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy.
Current smokers: Egor (trailered RF) and Easybake (tabletop pellet drive)
