My first smoker build

I have been looking and lurking for a while and looking at other people's builds. Then out of nowhere my friend dropped off a water pressure tank (85 gallons). Anyway, I think it came out ok. I'll see how it works. Lots of welding and grinding and noise. It was a bunch of fun. I took some pics along the way so if anyone is interested I will gladly post. Thanks for looking and the ideas.

Mike

Usually more beers than smoke.

Ok you got it! Remember its my first real metal project. Welding skills leave a LOT to be desired.

The raw pressure tank from dump brought to me by a very good friend.

I cut off one very rusty end and welded on a 1/8 inch plate.

The tank was roughly 1/8 inch

Mounted a frame and cut the door with an angle grinder. Got a plasma cutter a few days later. Lot of good that did me. Came out ok though.

I had some mohogany lumber so I made the top and she's ready to go. Thanks to all for looking. Sincerely. I had a lot of fun pretending to be cool throughout this project. I would change so many things but overall I am happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks. I just wish I had the plasma cutter earlier. I like refreshments but I love shiny new tools!
