Sorry no more pics of the build. I haven't been able to work on it since my first post. All thats left to do is hinge the door, build the racks, and put in the baffle.
As far as the tank goes I got it from a guy at work. His father works at a gas company and he can get them for scrap price. I will be getting a 500 gallon tank soon for a $100.
I really like the frame this smoker sits on I would like to see more detail like the back axle and how you made it maybe some close up pics. Also what size tubing is it constructed from? I have a 120 that I am working on now thank you
Hank , the axles are 3/4 inch bolts and the frame is 1 1/2 inch square tube 1/8 wall. All I did was drill the tube and welded the bolt head and shimmed the wheel with 3/4 pipe. The wheels and tires are from the front of a riding mower. I got all my honey dos done for now so I will be working on it this weekend and I will take more pics of the build. And I get that 500 gallon tank tomorrow..... what could I do with that?

Just one right now. The 500 is for a future build and the white one I didn't finish and I am giving it to one of the guys I work with in exchange for help building the 120 and I have a 150 to build for the boss.

I ran my first fire yesterday and I think I have a problem. With in 30 minutes my temp hit 450, l closed the dampers on the fb to half and it dropped to 380 then half on the stack down to 320. With all the dampers closed to about 90% it came down to 270. This was over a 4 hour period with only 3 3 inch logs. I think the door on the fb is drawing to much air. Is there a way to seal it or do I need to redo it?
I'm not sure what your seal is like now or your set back on the hinges but you could certainly run a bead of silicone around the door seal and close it on some wax paper (so you don't stick your door shut) and let it cure about 36 hours. That will form a seal probably better than you currently have. If you've got room you could add some 1/4 inch firerope to the silicone to seal it even more - it's amazing how much better it will behave …. jm2cw

You are correct and the numbers would indicate that since 800 isn't uncommon for a FB and most high-temp silicones are rated at around 550.
However, I have always used the silicone to stick fire-rope TO THE DOOR PANEL to seal around the edge of the door. This puts the firebox wall and the fire-rope between the fire and the silicone so radiant heat is dropped a lot. I have never had silicone holding fire-rope fail on a firebox door. fwiw
