Math sucks. That is why I like this site. The calculator told me how big to make everything. Someone should make a calculator out of your ideas there... How often, how many people...done, go get a tank "X" big....

Current smokers: Egor (trailered RF) and Easybake (tabletop pellet drive)
I'm really NOT looking forward to cutting it down (I know I should have done that before I welded it on) But the test drive on it (without any meat) went very well. Temp maintained perfectly, had sufficient draft, etc. Anyone see any reason I can't leave it tall? It get's the smoke well above everyone's head this way too...
I would say wait on the chimney height until it's all mounted on the trailer. By that time you can check for overhead door clearance compared to where the pit calc. wants you to cut it and then decide.
Being able to take it indoors at times can be a huge serviceability bonus.

Longest build project in smokerbuilder.com history???
Not a lot has happened although yesterday got kinda boring by halftime so I finished up and just tacked the firebox to the trailer I recently acquired for this. Does everyone weld their smokers to the trailer? I know this is a lousy photo but the firebox runs up flush to the rear crossmember of the trailer. 3/4 of the tank is forward of the axle so I have a tongue weight that in my opinion is perfect and the axle will be balanced especially after I had a wood box, sink and maybe a santa maria style grill and work table to the back side of the cooker.
