my first smoker build

Post by Q'sanArt » April 29th, 2013, 10:11 pm

Ok so I got these two 120 gallon tanks almost two years ago and have been saying I was going to do a trailer build. Putting them back to back. I was hoping to get started on them last week, but do to a family member's passing I am just now getting started on them.

Hey sorry its taken me a while to respond. And yes I will be taking Frank's advice. After I made those cuts I realized I should have done that. I haven't got anything else done to it yet except for cutting up all the 1/4 in. Plate for the fireboxes. Tomorrow or Friday I will have the fireboxes welded and hopefully the doors cut out afnd hinged. My firebox will be 22x22 according to the pit calculater its about 5 % too big. I was wondering if I make the chimney a little longer if that will make up for the Firebox being slightly larger. Any opinions and advice would be appreciated. I am using 4in. Pipe for the chimneys.

Well size does matter but I don't think you'll notice 5% larger (TWSS) .... :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

haha, TWSS!
anyway, if you used our PitCalc, the stack size the calc spits out IS matched to the current FB size you input

I used the fenton calc. it outputs pipe size and length. I found that helpfull when raiding the scrap heap at work for supplies.nice to have options.
