First Reverse Flow Smoker Build (Pic Heavy)

Post by txbbqfan » May 7th, 2013, 5:39 pm

Had an old 86 gallon well water pressure tank laying around and decided to build a smoker out of it. This was our first ever smoker build and after a little bit of research we decided to go the reverse flow route. In the end I'd of done a few things differently, but overall it turned out great. We have plans to build a table to the left of the smoker, as well as a toolbox on the backside.

Moved axle back and got trailer ready for paint

This was an afterthought which is why we did it after paint

Nice build you got there. Looks like it does a fine job, too. Samples, please.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

I didn't build the trailer from scratch. I took the axle out and moved the brackets back, so the weight would be more on the axle. I then bought new boards and stained them. Finally I cut an area for the firebox to fit in. I live in Mansfield, Texas.

I have that exact tank. How thick is it? I'm worried it's gonna eat fuel.
