Last grill I built

Post by tomcren » April 4th, 2011, 6:40 am

I had all these old bell end from propane tanks so I decided to build a grill/smoker from them..Grill has a dymanic counter weight that shifts to hold the lid in place.I also used an old throw out bearing to rotate the top 360 for easy access to the food.Cooking surface is in 2 sections to allow addition of extra charcoal when smoking.by building the fire on one side and using a drip pan to hold water,I can get great results..bih enough for 3 boston butts or 1 turkey.

top opens and counter weight shifts to keep the top up..Arm also pivots 360 to allow easy access

The bottom half is not welded but is free to shift around or be completely removed..I built and additional stand so the bottom could be used as a fire pit thats why there are handles on the sides. On hay rides I put a mound of charcoal and use it to cook hot dogs etc..In the bottom I built a grate from a Hammer Mill screen to allow easy clean out.. Also put draft control on bottom and on the top..The results speak for them selves.
