Looking good TB!
That is going to be a stout cooker there. Have you thought about skis to replace those wheels? Looks like you might need em! :P

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Yeah we just had 16 inches of snow 2 days ago.

The dog is a German Shorthair

Need advice on cutting the holes for the heat tube and exhaust stack. I don't have the right tools here to cut them and no way to take it somewhere to get them cut.
Any thoughts?

Heavy! I would say angle grinder and cutting disk for heat tube. Is your exhaust round or square and on the top or the side of the smoker?

So did you end up using a grinder to make your cuts? I'm thinking a plasma would be easier but if you didn't have one then a grinder is it.....and what size hole was it?

The chute is 27" and the fire box is 24" tall with a ash box of 12" . The chute sticks out the top about 3/8"

No plasma cutter, have to use a grinder for the heat transfer tube but am looking to scrounge up a jig saw.

Welding up the transfer tube will be a challenge as there is almost no room to get the gun in there to weld it but I think that I can go in through the ash box to weld in in place.

I got the heat tube installed - I got lucky and nailed it on first try !!!

Word of wisdom when you build one of these try and have the fire box, ash box, chimney build and installed BEFORE you put the cook chamber in as it will be a lot easier to weld them in.

I was able to work on the clone this afternoon and got a lot done. I put the raceway for the GURU power supply in as well as the pipe for the probes.

Sealed up the chute top so when the door is in place it will be air tight, I made the chute about 3/8" taller than the top of the cooker to keep any water out, not sure if I needed to do that though.

Mounted the rear skin today.
