What are the dimensions? It may be best to put a fire box on both ends and divide the space long ways under the BP, so the exhaust stack or stacks would be in the middle rather one end. This would keep the whole thing even temps and equal on smoke flow. It would also make the fire boxes the same size as if it were really only a 500 gallon tank.
just my thoughts
I wrote this before I saw the pic are you sure it is not a 500?
Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........
I've not actually laid eyes on her yet. they were asking me questions because they knew I was getting into builds. I was told the tank is 14 feet long from tip to tip. I thought 500s were about 10 feet long. Looking at 1000s they should be about 190 inches long and 31 inches wide.. Great idea on the two fireboxes.
I would definitely get your hands on it and take your own measurements before committing to a FB design. Based on the pic, I would bet the tank is 500 gal. I had one similar to it a few years ago.
It is for some boys who want it purely for fund raising for their church and other charities. I thought all the propane tanks were standard sizes. I will get first hand info and post up. The 14ft length measurement was confirmed as best I could but still not first hand. The size of the measuring tape relative to the tank in the pic made me doubtfull. Honest mistake though, as they are as nice of people as I know. Thanks!
