Your opinion on this design

Post by Culinairezaken » July 3rd, 2013, 4:20 am

Hello everybody!

I'm the proud owner of a stickburner, kamado and a couple of grills which i use with my catering jobs.
Bussiness is (finaly) booming and i need a new smoker!
There is one small problem, lack of space on my trailer....

These are my thoughts:

I have a 120 gallon industrial expansion barrel which i want to use as Cooking chamber.

I want a square firebox mounted UNDERNEATH the CC, with a baffle plate inbetween and slots on the sides to slow smoke to enter the CC.

Does anyone have experience/thoughts on this design?

I Will post a drawing asap

Thanx,

Pieter

I think posting a drawing of your thoughts is a good idea. Once we see it, I'm sure you will get some input and feedback pretty quick.

What you're describing is probably a center fed reverse flow Smoker… And Rick is going to be the residential expert on that… Can you believe I just said that?

It sounds like your talking about a "center feed" there are several of those on the site. Try using that title in the search bar for ideas. Here is a good one for your reading pleasure. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=377

Thanks guys!
You obviously have this under control - until we see Peter's drawing that will fit the trailer … :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D
