Wagyu brisket?

Post by Nagaburns » September 2nd, 2013, 2:31 pm

Hi Guys

Is it worth reaching deeper into my pockets to buy wagyu brisket for comps?

Does anyone on here use them exclusively, are they that much better?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

They are definitely a great brisket, but I wouldn't drop that kind of cash, unless I'm winning the rest of the categories.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

exactly! get your technique down first, then work on your recipe, then drop the money... if you spend $120-$180 on a single brisket then to come out right you need to win brisket category at every contest you cook....

they are amazing briskets. I would wait until you are in the top 5 or so then I would start using them maybe. technique will get you in the top 10 everytime in my opinion. recipe closes the gap, then moving to something like that

RCG on my first KCBS sanctioned comp
Need to get a few more under my belt though to hone what you said above.
