Howdy Howdy

Post by TSQ » September 3rd, 2013, 11:16 am

Howdy folks, new member from deep south Texas hailing from the Magical Rio Grande Valley. Not a full time welder just like to build things, mostly bbq pits for fun, my dad was a welder so thats kinda always been in my blood. Wanting to build a new design of smoker so thought to look through here for ideas.
Thanks for having me.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. As far as type I'm not sure what to call it but an upright style box. Was given a Smokey Mountain series upright little box a couple years ago and I'm loving it. Made a small charcoal basket below and it will run at 300 for 10 hours on one load. Problem is that its too small for a normal brisket and a whole rack of ribs so I have to trim them to fit. So I'm thinking of a wider and deeper box on same style design. There are many nice verticals out there but not open from bottom like I want plus I'm just a diy kinda guy. Thanks

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
