UDS. Fire door or no?

Post by Thechickenlake » September 10th, 2013, 11:17 pm

Build a door into the uds or trust we will have enough heat??
We have access to a welder(grandfather) and don't want to pull meat out if we have to add wood or coals to a dying fire box.
Any advice? We are to the point of just building 2.. One with a door and one without.
How hard is it to make the door air tight and not jeapordize the well being of our coals and wood?

No door. The beauty of the UDS is the ability to run 18-20 hrs easily, without adding fuel.
