Forgive my lack of knowledge in this area but I too just saw a video on the Evolution metal cutting saw. I have been using a 3" air powered cut off tool and it sucks. I saw this tool cut 1/4" plate like it was 3/4" plywood....
Let me ask this, if you were to buy a metal cutting tool for intermittent use, would you use something like this or is there a $$$ equivalent ?
I did not take into consideration of the safety issues with that 3" cutoff wheel... Now that I'm done ... I read all those possibilities....EEK !
Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life
Check out Harbor Freight. I borrowed a 14" cutoff saw from a friend and it cut the 1" 16G square tubing just fine. Can't beat the price but I wouldn't use any of their stuff all day long, every day.
If it's tourist season, how come I can't shoot 'em?
I have a chop saw...it works well for the POS it is.. I need to cut 1/4" plate for the fire box and dampers and baffle. I used the 3" cutoff and then afterwards read the dangers of doing things this way. The last thing I need is a whizzing fly by frisbee cut off wheel.
I am a woodworker and build acoustic guitars as a winter time consumer... When I saw this thing cut the steel, wow! If I can cut the 4x8x1/4 plate into the pieces as if it were plywood, I'm smilin'
