CC door sizes

Post by 1basenji » November 8th, 2013, 7:12 pm

will be cutting doors in a 250 gal propane tank, as soon as harvest season is over! going to have 2 doors, probably 25"-30" wide with 3"-4" between them. any recommendations on how tall to make them? would you start at the top of the tank or come down alittle?? i was thinking about coming down 3"-4". will the bottom of the door be past the halfway point? what do you guys think?

I wouldn't go more than an inch or so past the mid point - otherwise the door will get very hard to seal along the bottom edge. :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

I like one inch past both points (tdc) and just below the horizontal plane. It keeps the rain out on top and allows the bottom rack to be dead center. That is just me.

I also follow the same rule of thumb as RC. It works very well

:yth:

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
