Hey Killswitch... could you give us an intro to the discada? I seen a few of your threads on the ring and I really like this whole deal... made a category for it LOL.

Frank, Denny builds some nice discos he got me hooked on them the first time I saw a cook thread on his. He helped me with the measurements and I built my first one we love it. His side pan for spoons is the way to go in my opinion. :points:
Here are some pics of the one I built for my wife.
Fixing to weld up the hole.
Image

With the hole welded up and putting on the pan and sides.

I built my burner from 1/2" pipe keeping it simple like Denny does, some use store bought burners.
Image
Image

I built a three legged stand and added a side catch for the pan.
Image
Image

A pic of the burner end. I drilled a 1/16" hole in the end of the pipe I capped.
Image

I adjusted the top venturie then welded it in once my desired air mix was what I wanted.
Image

Denny taught me this a little water boiling will let you know if your plug is solid.
Image
Image

I added a fire ring to help contain the flame.

Denny, Thanks again my Friend for a Great idea.

k.a.m. did you plug the hole or plate over it? Looks like you welded a round in the ctr and it is raised a small step. Gonna try one of these and see how it works on a rocket stove. Not as hot but, it should do a good cook. Thanks my friend.

Thank You Tom. :)

Thank You Frank. :)

E.K., there only dangerous if you use them in closed up areas.
Here is a pic of my home made weed burner its quite popular on the ring. :welder:
Image

Steve, I plugged the hole in the disc and burned in with a 6010 then capped it with a 7018. I then used a 36 grit flap disc to smooth it out, the bottom is smooth on both sides. I hope this helps. :)

hahaha! Now thats a weedburner kam!
are you using a high pressure regulator on that or a low? high pressure will have a red knob on the adjustment. Great job Buddy! :-bd

It took me a little bit but i calculated the BTU size of your weed burner kam... are you ready for this?
if you used a 1/16" drill bit for the orifice, and without a regulator the gas pressure was 125 psi the resulting BTU output would be an astounding 573,196 BTU/hour!

I gotta say, that is one heck of a weed burner buddy! :kewl: Just be careful LOL!

That is all :( I need a bigger hole. Seriously though Frank I am very careful with it. You can only run it with the gas valve barely cracked or it blows itself out. The pic is when it is in perfect harmony the one I built my son-in-law has a regulator on it but it is nowhere near the BTU's of mine. :)

Thank You Tom. :)

Frank, The first time my son-in-law used it at a comp was an Elks lodge event. The teams were set up rather tight and at 3:00 A.M. CJ fired up the burner to light his fire he called me in the morning they were all laughing because other teams were turning on lights in their campers and coming out to see what was happening. One guy thought a gas line had ruptured nearby. =))
