Man that thing is sweet. Can you half close the valve on your draft controller I've had to do that to even my temps

Thanks guys!

@smokerTom - I haven't given up on the digi yet...

@KS - If you're referring to the gate in the digi fan outlet then yes and I have. The problem is that the fan control begins to "time out" after it runs a few minutes and starts cutting out - long before the cook chamber responds.

'course remember that I'm still dealing with seal problems so it's not the best test either until I get that resolved...

Aside from getting some sleep at a comp or cooking while I'm doing other things around the place, I'm amazed how easy it is to "old school" it and hit and hold temp manually ... very pleased with the design - THANKS FRANK!

Forgot to mention... today the adjustable baffles gave me a 28 degree "tilt" from left end of the cook grate to the right end. Perfect for doing chicken hotter and everything else at normal - now I have to redesign THAT control to work since the first one self destructed from heat... I'm learning! :BDHorse:

WOW man, your still warping the doors.

Why is the fire running so hot. I have never had a problem like that. Course, my doors are not 100% sealed.

Thought I would send a Christmas card post to the thread. Edgar's not quite done but he's close enough to do Christmas dinner this afternoon. Left to right is me, my son - Lee and Edna's nephew - Bill. Merry Christmas from some of the Edna's Kids' team!

Thanks guys - I'm pretty surprised how well he came out myself but I always figured I should build something nice looking if it's going to be staring back at me in the garage for the next 30 years...

Edna's already making passes at him in the shop - who knows.... maybe there's a little "Eddy" in the future....? :D

As some of you know, Edgar's door likes to warp.
In fact his first AND second doors liked to warp! :BDHorse:

So I showed EDGAR'S first 2 doors to a machinist buddy of mine with about 40 years experience building "you name it" out of steel and he said; "If I WANTED a door to warp on purpose, that's EXACTLY how I would design it! :-o

Should have asked him in the first place ... :-l

Anyway, door number 3 is just 1/4 inch plate with double knife latches - we'll see how it goes next weekend ... :D

So the first two warped due to ...being a tightwad? Not using 1/4" steel? =))
