After assembling this trailer kit and staring at it for about a month now I've come to the conclusion the frame won''t work. Not a single channel, bolt or mounting point on it lines up where I could reuse it. By the time I completely tear it down and re-drill it to work I could have just welded my own (stronger) frame that IS correct.
I can recycle all the running gear, hitch coupler/chains and light kit - which is worth more than the whole trailer kit was in the first place. It's about an 1180 pound rating to carry Egor and he's only projected somewhere slightly south of 500 pounds.
Those numbers will leave a little room for packing an easy-up and some lump and splits.

Doesn't look much like a trailer yet but …. maybe with an axle it will….
Made a poster board template for a stoplight sun shield to trace it onto a piece of 4" pipe for a 3" gauge.
I think it'll look better once it's upright and the door's hung….

I don't think you could bolt it to the bottom. The cross member looks fairly close to the axle. I don't think the tongue would fit between the axle and the cross member.
What you're looking at is not the way it comes. I moved all those parts from their standard positions just to take measurements.
I moved the axle above the springs to lower the bed, the wheels are on inside-out to broaden the track and the drawbar is bolted to the top of the bed to raise the hitch height closer to my Jeep.

With a little hydraulic help we welded the FB to the CC. (got some great help from sawsalot)
Take THAT you guys with fork lifts!
This has to be the most goofy looking cooker I've ever seen - kind of like a half-busted rubiks cube….

Gizmo,
Again, your fab skills are blowing me away! I have a question regarding this design. Are you concerned about running in to/ kicking/ tripping over your trailer tongue? I do like that lay out, especially if you have a truck, tailgate/work surface on one side and smoker on the other. Anyway, looking great as always!

The Monster: 60 Gal Compressor tank RF Offset Smoker. It's big, it's ugly and it has golf cart tires...
Thanks for the comments guys!
The drawbar slides out. It's held with 2 linch-pins you can't see in this photo. More pics later today.

Adding a bathroom scales and floor jack under the hitch….
Ease the floor jack down and transfer the load to the scales to see the hitch load.
Repeated operation 3 times until we found the axle location for a good tongue weight.
This little guy is a lot more critical for balance than a standard/longer trailer would be.
55# should be about right…
Flip the trailer frame and locate/weld the axle shackles in place….
Hopefully next pic will be the first test burn …. maybe later today?
